National Service Scheme (NSS)

NSS is a central sector scheme of Government of India. It provides opportunity to students to take part in various community service activities and programmes. The college has a NSS cell. At the start of the academic year students are admitted to this scheme. They undertake various social activities throughout the year.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

NCC is an Indian Military Cadet Corps with its headquarters at New Delhi. It recruits cadets from educational institutions on voluntary basis. It is a tri service organization comprising Army, Navy and Air-Force engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.

On the occasion of Kranti Diwas Guard of honour was given to 50 freedom fighters and their families on 9th August 2021. Ms. Shravani Sanjeevkumar Garje of B.Sc. II Year students and NCC cadet of 04-Maharashtra Naval Unit Nagpur led this guard of honour.

Ms. Shravani Sanjeevkumar Garje of B.Sc. II Year students and NCC cadet of 04-Maharashtra Naval Unit NCC Nagpur has established a new record in ‘Adventure Sea Swimming Expedition’ by being a swimmer of relay team which swam the route between Getway of India to Elephanta Cave, Gharapuri and back on date 6th April 2022. Distance 31 km. time taken 11Hrs. 39 min

Ms. Shravani Sanjeevkumar Garje participated in 14th Maharashtra Strengthlifting and Incline Bench – Press Championship-2022 Nagpur on 15th April 2022. She has secured first place and bagged gold medal in Incline Bench Press and silver medal in Strengthlifting.

Ms. Shravani Sanjeevkumar Garje has actively participated and secured 3rd price in Powerpoint presentation competition on ‘Impact of Conid-19 pandemic on Environment’ organized by department of Biotechnology, Santaji Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur on 16th March 2021.

Participation in ‘Late MLA Shri Govindrao Wanjari Inter -Collegiate Cross Country’ organized by Santaji Mahavidyalaya Nagpur on 16-03-2022. Ms. Devyani Bharti of B.Sc. III year students and NCC cadet of 3-Maharashtra Engineer Company NCC, Nagpur secured the first prize. The second prize was given to Ms. Ashvini Chittalwar, The Third prize was given to Ms. Shravani S. Garje, The Fourth price given to Ms. Rubey Gajbhiye

She has secured first place and bagged gold medal. Distance -500 mts, time-16:37.70, Age Category- 17 to 35 (Women)

The film Uri was shown to the NCC cadets of Santaji Mahavidyalaya by Department of Student Development R.T.M. Nagpur University on 26th July 2019 at Panchsheel Cinema House to inculcate feeling of Patriotism.

Activities of 2018-19

Adolescent and Youth Programme on 14-08-2018 in association with Obstetric & Gynecological Society, Nagpur.

Renowned Gynecologist Dr. Kanchan Sorte, President, Obstetric & Gynecological Society Nagpur and Dr. Sushma Deshmukh, Secretary of the organization were invited as guests.
Dr. Sushma Deshmukh rendered guidance of immense importance regarding health of girl students. She urged the girl students to remain alert and aware about their health related issues and take care of all aspects of health.
Dr. Kanchan Sortey mentioned about the possibility of hazardous disease like PCOD keeping in view the kind to lifestyle we have adopted in modern times. Large number of girl students and Female students were present in the programme. The students raised health related queries which were satisfied by the eminent doctors.

11th July 2017,Internationl Population Day

1st to 7th December observed ‘AIDs Awareness Week’. Dr. Neehal Sheikh & Mrs. Vaishali Pimple guided the students on the deadly disease.

3rd January 2018 observed birth anniversary of Krantijyoti Savitribai phule. Dr. Renuka Jambhorkar, Professor, Ayurvedik Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur was the guest speaker. She and Dr. Shrikant Pajankar laid focus on the life of Savitribai Phule.

8th March 2018 observed international women’s day. Mrs. Reena Pande. Co-ordinator of Silica, Designer career Guide Center guided the students on career opportunities. Adv. Monika Zalpe rendered guidance on rights of Women. Ms. Sonali Shami imparted guidance about the career course available after HSC and self employment.


Adult, Continuing Education and Extension Services

Population Education

In Santaji Mahavidyalaya, under Continuous Learning and Extension Department, Population Education Programmers are organized. As per the directions of RTMNU, students are registered under this programme. The students prepare a project with the help of newspaper cuttings and other magazines and also write essays . Various topics included are Increasing Population –Problems and Solutions, Environment Protection and Enhancement, Youth and Sports, Women Empowerment, Violence against Women, Problems Related to Education, Children’s Problems and solutions, Water Protection and Conservation, Agricultural Small Scale Industries, Politics etc. The students choose two topics and prepare 15 news, two Editorials and 4 letters by the readers. The students have to prepare this project with the help of daily newspapers. These projects are examined by the concerned lecturers and have to be duly signed by the Principal. Total of 40 students have submitted their projects.

The Birth Anniversary of former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was celebrated as Readers Inspiration Day on 13 October 2017. The programme was presided over by the Principal of the college Dr. Priya D. Wanjari. Dr. Neehal R. Sheik and Dr. Shrikant Pajankar guided the students on the importance of reading. The students also shared their experiences.

The ‘Constitution Day’ was celebrated on 26 November 2017 in the college. The programme was presided over by the Principal of the college Dr. Priya D. Wanjari. The prominent speaker for the programme was Dr. Shrikant Pajankar, HOD Commerce. Dr. Pajankar enlightened the students on the features of the Constitution and Dr. Priya Wanjari guided them on the same.

The ‘AIDS Week’ was observed in the college from 1st December 2017 to 8th December 2017. A program was organized on the International AIDS day. The prominent speakers on the occasion were Dr. Neehal Sheikh and Prof. Vaishali Pimple who guided the students.

The Mahaparinirvan Din of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar was observed on 6th December 2017

On 3 January 2018 the birth anniversary of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule was observed. The program was presided over by the Principal of the college Dr. Priya D. Wanjari. The prominent speaker on this occasion was Dr. Renuka Jambhorkar, Professor, Ayurvedic College, Nagpur. She guided the students on the life of Savitribai Phule and also guided on nutrition planning. Dr. Pajankar guided the students on the works of Savitribai Phule. The presidential address was carried out by Dr. Priya Wanjari.
